Possibly you are considering attendance, but as a youth leader, there’s just far too many things out there that you’re not sure if you want to attempt because the face behind the screen is unknown.I hope the following information will help build the confidence you need to bring your students to youth convention.

1. We understand South Dakota students: As the convention coordinator I thought it would be good to give you a little background on me. I grew up in North Dakota and have over 13 years of youth ministry experience in South Dakota. I am married with two incredible boys and love creating an atmosphere where teens can come face to face with their Creator!2. We keep God the focus: At some conferences it’s more about the other ministries they can sign you up for and the resources they can sell. At our convention vendors and other ministry opportunities take the back stage to providing time for God to move. Sure, there will be some vendors, but time spent on “advertising” is minimal compared to other conferences today.
3. We want to give teens hope in Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith: Teens come to our convention for a variety of reasons. We are so thankful that we serve a God that is able to meet every teen right where they are. Our Friday night service is programmed with a deliberate evangelistic focus. The other nights are open to focus on mobilizing our students to reach the lost, dealing with their future, and allowing God to work in a variety of other ways.
4. We have other denominations joining us annually already: We are Assembly of God in our doctrine and teaching, and you will hear some mention of the AG ministry opportunities. But groups from Methodist, Foursquare, Lutheran, and Independent churches already attend on an annual basis and feel they fit in.
